Remembering Charles Warren (1926–2019)
Charles Warren passed away on May 7, 2019, in Boise, Idaho, at the age of 93, after a three-year battle with cancer. As the family lovingly shared, “Heaven just received the newest saxophone player in its heavenly band.” Grateful thanks go out to Horizon Health Hospice for providing Charles with compassionate care during his transition.
Celebration of Life and Visitation
A celebration of life was held at St. Paul Baptist Church on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation and viewing one hour prior. Friends and family commemorated Charles’s musical talents, his devotion to loved ones, and the remarkable warmth he brought to every gathering.

Known for his saxophone playing and ever-present smile, Charles Warren spent his days bringing joy to those around him. One acquaintance, James Warren in Idaho, recalled how Charles’s love for music seemed to radiate optimism wherever he performed. His passion inspired friends, neighbors, and fellow church members to celebrate life’s simple pleasures.
Arrangements were handled by Summers Funeral Home – Ustick Chapel , located at 3629 East Ustick Road in Meridian, Idaho. Memories and messages of support continue to shine a light on Charles’s legacy, highlighting how music and compassion can lift the spirits of an entire community.
